The Farewell in Salem . . .

Garrett spoke in the 3rd Ward Sacrament Meeting on Sunday, July 28, 2013. He gave an amazing talk about the Apostasy and the Restoration. Afterward, our home and yard were again overflowing with the love and support of his many family and friends. We are indeed blessed to have so many angels among us!

 

We made our missionary lunch trip to Chuck-A-Rama on July 31. We began this "tradition" in January 2013 when Elder Sean McEwan left on his mission, so we obviously needed to continue with such a tradition!

The LDS Temple Trip . . .

Elder McEwan did much preparation and was worthy to enter the Mt. Timpanogos Temple on Saturday, July 13, 2013. What great support he had with the many family members who were able to attend! What an awesome experience to be given so many blessings from our Heavenly Father.

The Call . . .

What an awesome day to receive that big white envelope in the mail! Elder Garrett Bradley McEwan received such an envelope on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 (Mom's birthday!).

 

Many family and friends anxiously waited ALL DAY for the call to be opened. When the time finally arrived, our home was overflowing with love and support for Garrett and his upcoming experience. There were also many on the speaker phone to hear where he had been called.

 

 

 

Elder Garrett Bradley McEwan had been called to serve in the Dominican Republic Santo Domingo West Mission. He will report to the Dominican Republic MTC on Thursday, August 1, 2013. The letter was signed by President Thomas S. Monson, President of the Church! What amazing adventures are in the future of Garrett and our whole family.

 

As Garrett read his call, he shouted to his great friend, Jake Curtis, "Hey, dude! We're gonna be companions (Jake has been called to serve in the Dominican Republic Santiago Mission). Now we begin the next step in preparing . . . passport, immunizations, VISA, shopping, shopping, and more shopping!
